Vicki Harnish

Ms. Vicki Harnish is the deputy minister for the Nova Scotia Department of Finance and has worked for the Government of Nova Scotia, mainly in policy and planning, for over 25 years. She began her career with the government at the Department of Mines and Energy where she spent several years as the director of energy economics. She then served as executive director of planning at the Department of Natural Resources and executive officer of Treasury and Policy Board. She has held the positions of deputy minister of the Treasury and Policy Board, secretary to the executive council, and public service commissioner. She has been deputy minister of the Department of Finance since January 2004.

Ms. Harnish is a graduate from Mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in economics and mathematics. She also holds an MPA from Dalhousie University.
