Innovacorp was a proud sponsor of this year’s Acadia Challenge Proof of Concept competition. The competition was organized by the Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship, an organization offering counseling, training, and research in the pre-start-up and start-up segments of the business growth cycle.
The Proof of Concept competition was designed to encourage students to think more broadly about the potential applications of their research, and provide an introduction to the business aspects of technology development. Participants were required to prepare and present a proposal for developing a novel product, process or service under a 'Proof of Concept' research plan; the stage of development where an idea or invention moves from concept to a commercial or economic feasibility stage.
The first place winners of this year’s Proof of Concept competition were Jereme Outerleys, David Gee, Lance Taylor and Duncan Elliot for their invention of a Mobile Detachable Hand Prosthetic. Innovacorp’s Ken Lee participated as a competition judge and is pictured below with this year's winning team.
