DementiaGuide Inc. (DGI) is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with dementia. The DGI team, lead by Dr. Kenneth Rockwood, has worked diligently to translate over 10 years of research and development for caregivers of persons with dementia to use as their companion to understand and manage symptoms of dementia, and in particular, Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease.

The SymptomGuide tool is the product of more than 15 years of research at the Geriatric Medicine Research Unit in Halifax. The research focus has been on treatments for Alzheimer disease and other dementias. One of the many features of the website is the comprehensive library, which houses information about symptom descriptors, what is happening in the brain, as well as management strategies. Another feature of DementiaGuide’s library is the Doctor’s Diary that provides a physician’s perspective of the disease.

The data provided by the site’s subscribers will provide in-depth information about the progression of dementia. This invaluable information will be used to further research on a global scale in the area of dementia and the use of medication. DementiaGuide is interested in entering new markets and is looking to expand the SymptomGuide tool to include other diseases.
