The Association of Internationally Educated and Trained Professionals of Nova Scotia (IETP-NS) was founded in 2005 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to facilitate economic and social integration of internationally educated people in the province, and to enhance their labour market attachment. The association works with the existing groups of internationally educated professionals in Nova Scotia as well as facilitates the development of new groups with the long-term vision of creating a collective voice of internationally educated and trained professionals (IETPs) in the province.
The overall goal of IETP-NS is to assist all IETPs in Nova Scotia in their professional development and labour market attachment - from necessary skills upgrade through initial work placement to professional licensing.
The association achieves this goal by providing a comprehensive information package on the existing resources, services and opportunities for IETPs in Nova Scotia, and by representing IETP interests at the major provincial and national policy roundtables.
