Bob Pelley is an investment manager at Innovacorp, where his focus is on identifying attractive seed and early-stage investment opportunities in Cape Breton region. He manages all aspects of the investment review, approval and closing cycle, and works hands-on with Innovacorp’s portfolio companies to assist them in accelerating their growth, achieving milestones and securing additional financing.
Bob is a 17-year veteran of the market research and consulting industry with experience in business development, project management, market research, planning, operations and sales. Over the years he has started and operated a number of his own companies and assisted with many local start-ups. He has worked in a wide range of sectors, from recreation, tourism and education, to retail trade, technology and health.
Most recently, Bob was president of Intelligence Consulting Group Inc., a Sydney-based research firm offering services in quantitative and qualitative research and consultancy in competitive intelligence and export-market development.
Previously, Bob was vice president of research and development at CrossOff Inc. During his time there, Bob’s responsibilities included addressing the company's market and competitive intelligence needs, securing funding for development and commercialization, and creating sales support and customer care services. His work and contributions led to strong revenue growth and international partnership development.
Bob is an active volunteer in the community with organizations such as JCI Cape Breton, YMCA of Cape Breton, Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce, Strait Area Chamber of Commerce, Cape Breton Partnership, and Market Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA), to name a few.
