Robert Niven, CEO and Founder, CarbonCure Technologies Inc. ( – Rob is a clean technology entrepreneur inspired to find profitable and sustainable solutions for the cement and concrete sectors. His company, CarbonCure Technologies, has developed a technology that captures carbon dioxide emissions from industrial sources and incorporates it into the production process for high-performing concrete products. With Rob at the helm, CarbonCure has raised $5 million in investment to date – and is not done yet.

Kevin Sullivan, CEO, DeNovaMed Inc. ( – Kevin has more than 15 years of experience with early-stage biotechnology companies. Over the years, he has raised more than $35 million in private equity and non-dilutive government funding in biotechnology, most recently as the COO at Viron Therapeutics. At Viron, Kevin’s team developed five novel anti-inflammatory drug candidates, including a lead program that was developed through to completion of a Phase II clinical study. Before joining Viron, he worked in molecular diagnostics for the environmental and food safety industry, and prior to that, he was a navy diver for the Canadian Armed Forces. Kevin’s latest venture, DeNovaMed, is an emerging pharmaceutical company specializing in new therapeutic approaches to combat bacterial infections.

Greg Phipps, Director of Investment, Innovacorp ( – Greg is an investment, finance, and operations professional with extensive start-up and business building experience. He has more than a decade of venture investment management, 17 start-ups and 50 equity investment transactions under his belt. At Innovacorp, he is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, due diligence, and deal structure, closing and governance. He also provides hands-on business guidance to Innovacorp’s investment portfolio companies. For 11 years prior to joining Innovacorp, Greg served as the Atlantic region’s director of venture capital for BDC Venture Capital.
