Every start-up needs to grow to be successful. For this seminar we are excited to say we have managed attract four experts with a wide range of experience and knowledge in sales, marketing and growing companies, who will share key aspects of growing a business and provide attendees with a wealth of valuable information to take away.
The speakers and topics include:
Allan Gates, founder of Bonfire Marketing, who will discuss Minimum Viable Marketing (MVM), an approach based on the Lean Development Technique geared to developing a marketing plan that gives you great value for money. The talk will cover a wide variety of aspects of marketing and provides clear guidance on what you need to do to succeed. Alan has many years of experience working with a wide variety of companies, including one of the most successful start-ups in Atlantic Canada, Radian 6, and has built a growing marketing firm in New Brunswick. His MVM approach is truly exciting and will help any business grow and prosper.
Matt Symes, CEO of Simplicity Designs, a business that exists “to make the world a better place, one organization at a time.” In the past 2 1/2 years, Simplicity has grown from five to 27 employees, with offices in Moncton, Halifax and Tampa. Over the past six years, Matt has worked with more than 100 businesses to help them innovate, improve and grow. “Eighty-five per cent of businesses fail in the first 10 years. Understanding your customers and pivoting to meet their needs is central to bucking this trend and succeeding.” The insights that Matt will provide will truly help any business to succeed.
John Robertson has 20+ years in business development and senior management in the technology sector. Today John’s company, XLR8, works with innovative companies to build sales channels and accelerate the growth of their businesses. His topic will be “Selling from 30,000 feet.” What he will discuss is building indirect sales channels. He will discuss how to find and acquire channel partners that have a broad reach and are experienced in targeting your customer. He will discuss how to develop a channel plan, how to compensate channel partners and how to earn their commitment to your business.
Wendy Vrooman is a partner with Sandler Training, whose mission is to help their clients grow their revenues in a way that is comfortable for all parties. She believes that business happens between people, not companies. She has had the great fortune to work with a variety of companies in different sectors, but particularly enjoys the passion start-ups bring to the equation. Her topic will be “Managing Time and Expectations – The Customer’s and Yours.” “Have you ever left a meeting or ended a day and had no idea what, if anything, you actually accomplished? Our most important resource is time, so how do we ensure we are having profitable business meetings for both parties? We will look at a technique used to manage meetings and a tool designed to ensure that we are doing the right activities to get us to our goals.” This session will help all of us work smarter and better!
Any one of these sessions would be of tremendous value to entrepreneurs, start-ups and any other attendees. Getting these four experts in marketing, sales and growing your business together provides a tremendous opportunity for all of us to learn and grow. This is a not-to-be-missed event!
