Destination Cape Breton Association (DCBA) is the official destination marketing organization for Cape Breton Island. DCBA works with licensed tourism retailers to tell the world about the Cape Breton vacation experience. The association also works to create off-island promotions for markets around the world.
Designing marketing campaigns to tell the whole story of what Cape Breton offers requires a lot of data analysis. DCBA relies on data from Tourism Nova Scotia which takes time to aggregate and distribute. DCBA is looking for options to track tourism highs and lows in real time.
Intersect promotes the intersection of established organizations and entrepreneurship. DCBA will provide you with details about the problem or “pain” they need solved and you pitch your solution. The winning team will receive $5,000 from Innovacorp, as well as business support from DCBA and access to a model for attracting niche customers.

We will upload a video announcing the problem statement after the event, though you will miss out on the live Q&A portion of the evening. Take some time and think about your solution, just make sure you apply by Thursday, May 30. (Stay tuned for the online application!) Don’t worry, we’ll give you an opportunity to ask questions too at our Office Hours.
