Please join us for an interactive discussion with our IBMers from the Corporate Service Corps (CSC) Program!

The IBM Corporate Service Corps (CSC) program is managed through the Digital Opportunity Trust. Historically, this program has been completed in developing countries, but for the first time ever, it is being held in a developed country, and Halifax was chosen as the inaugural city to host. There are 16 IBMers from around the world that are working with four host organizations right in here in Halifax. COVE is one of them! CSC team’s projects will focus on the development of tech-based and ocean-related education programs, improved delivery services, and accessibility for youth, students, and immigrants.

Specifically, COVE’s project with IBM is looking at a re-branding strategy of ocean careers to youth and those entering the workforce. This also includes a framework for recruitment and attraction of students for a new internship pilot program that COVE will be hosting in May 2019. As the IBMers continue their work on the project, it is important that they meet and connect with those in the industry to gain a full understanding of the various challenges in the ocean sector. This Ocean Connector will encourage participation as questions will be asked to the audience through-out the presentation.
