We are seeking a manager of properties and incubation for our work to find, fund and foster innovative Nova Scotia start-ups that strive to change the world.
Innovacorp is Nova Scotia's early stage venture capital organization. In addition to risk capital, we offer entrepreneurs access to world-class incubation facilities, expert advice and other support to help accelerate their companies.
As part of our offering, we manage multiple incubation facilities in HRM. These sites are premier destinations for early stage technology companies in the information technology, life sciences, clean technology and ocean technology sectors. More than just workspace, our incubators offer on-site support, flexible leasing, secure building access, meeting space, an enterprise-grade voice and data network and redundant high-speed internet services. Plus, the facilities provide a collaborative and supportive environment where entrepreneurs can attend start-up events and training opportunities as well as build relationships with and learn from like-minded people.
Reporting to the vice president of finance and operations, the manager of properties and incubation will oversee Innovacorp’s property-related activities, plan and allocate client space requirements, address facility and maintenance issues, and liaise with clients and prospects, industry representatives, and partners.
As the manager of properties and incubation, you will be responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of the building services and administrative support teams. With support from the maintenance supervisor, you will also oversee building maintenance and operations, construction, and repair and preventative maintenance plans for all facilities, as well as liaise with contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies. As chair of Innovacorp’s health and safety committee, you will ensure all buildings and resident clients exceed health and safety requirements.
Working closely with Innovacorp’s acceleration programs and investment teams, you will play a key role in building awareness about our incubation infrastructure and services and recruiting clients to maximize facility occupancy. Your extensive lease management experience will ensure Innovacorp provides existing and potential resident clients with a superior service level.
As the ideal candidate, you have a degree or diploma in facility and property management and leasing and/or a minimum of six years of related experience. You have remarkable customer service skills and understand business management fundamentals, budgeting and financial management. In addition to demonstrated people management and leadership abilities, you have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and building and environment codes is considered an asset.
Finally, you are honoured to live the Innovacorp values of Respect, Integrity, Cooperation and Excellence.
If this describes you, please submit your resume and cover letter in Word or PDF format by 5:00 pm on Friday, December 7, 2018, to firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting the position title in the subject line.
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
