Stack-A-Buoy Marine Products Limited, a Cape Breton-based marine floatation products company, will officially launch its innovative new product February 27, 2009, at the Eastern Canadian Fisheries Exhibition in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
“The Stack-A-Buoy’s unique design makes it much easier to store and transport than traditional buoys,” said Blair Gotell, president of Stack-A-Buoy Marine Products. "With our hassle-free buoy, people no longer have to have deal with tangled ropes that can compromise safety. I’m confident this product will positively impact the industry for floatation products.”
The environmentally-friendly and durable Stack-A-Buoy is available in a variety of colour combinations and can be easily purchased on the company’s website (WWW.STACKABUOY.COM).
Stack-A-Buoy’s injection-molded marine buoy is designed to allow multiple buoys to be easily stacked together for transport and storage. In addition to the product’s stackability features which are useful when buoys are stored out of water, individual buoys can also be interlocked with each other while in water, to create additional buoyancy.
The company’s product helps lobster fishers save up to 30 per cent of storage space, which is significant for both economic and safety purposes. Stack-A-Buoy’s current primary target market is the lobster fishery, but the innovative solution is useful for a variety of other marine applications. The Stack-A-Buoy is patented in Canada and the United States.
