We’re shaking things up on our investment team and thought you should know.

Dawn Umlah is transitioning from her role as our IT Investment Manager to Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR). Our other IT investment whiz, Andrew Ray, is stepping into Dawn’s former position.

As our EiR, Dawn will work hands-on with a few of our portfolio companies, applying her know-how and determination to help fill certain identified skill gaps in start-ups that stand in the way of their success.

In addition, Dawn and others at Innovacorp will work in the IT start-up community to improve the support ecosystem for emerging companies.

Our IT start-up community is quite robust already, with many committed people and organizations eager to improve it, but there’s more work to be done – together – to deliver the most value to high potential companies.

Naturally, Dawn will also be hunting down her next opportunity over the upcoming 18 months, whether it’s building her own company or taking a leadership role at an existing start-up.

Innovacorp will remain an active IT investor, with Andrew now leading that work. Andrew’s done a stellar job since joining our team last year (he’s a rocket scientist, for Pete’s sake); we’re fortunate he’s willing to take on an even larger role at Innovacorp.

We think things are looking up for 2016. Happy Holidays, y’all!
