West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS trust (WMAS) became the third of six ambulance trusts in CSC’s region of a national program in England to go live with Siren ePCR Suite, Medusa Medical Technologies' flagship electronic patient care reporting solution.

Designed for use in ambulances en route to hospital, Siren ePCR and its complementary hardware employ an easy-to-use, touch screen interface that enables paramedics to record patient data more accurately, and in less time, than with pen and paper.

Medusa is extremely pleased with the WMAS deployment and with another trust going live. Steve Hattersley, Medusa’s vice president of strategic business, says, “This was one our smoothest and quickest rollouts. We started working with WMAS in December, and they went live in March. Everything was done in record time, from submitting configurations and user testing, to training paramedics."

Medusa Medical Technologies entered into an agreement with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in 2007 to outfit 60 per cent of the ambulances in England with Siren ePCR Suite, Medusa's electronic patient care reporting and data-management software.
