Robert (Bob) Pelley
Regional Manager, Cape Breton and Northern Nova Scotia

Bob Pelley is Innovacorp's regional manager for Cape Breton and Northern Nova Scotia. In this role, Bob focuses on enabling knowledge-based companies to accelerate their growth and helping foster a dynamic high-growth entrepreneurial culture in the region.

Bob has mentored small and medium sized businesses for over 20 years. He is a veteran of the market research and consulting industry, with experience in business development, project management, market research, strategic planning, operations and sales. Over the years, he has started and operated a number of his own companies and assisted with many local start-ups. Bob has worked in a wide range of sectors, from recreation, tourism and education, to retail trade, technology and health.

Most recently, Bob was president of Intelligence Consulting Group Inc., a Sydney-based research firm offering services in quantitative and qualitative research and consultancy in competitive intelligence and export-market development.

Previously, Bob was vice president of research and development at CrossOff Inc. During his time there, his responsibilities included addressing the company's market and competitive intelligence needs, securing funding for development and commercialization, and creating sales support and customer care services for Crossoff’s subsidiary companies, DNA Technologies and Polar Bear Software. His work and contributions led to strong revenue growth and international partnership development.

Bob is an active volunteer in the community and has held positions with organizations such as Northern Yacht Club, JCI Cape Breton, YMCA of Cape Breton, Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce, Cape Breton Partnership, and Market Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA), to name a few.

Bob has a specialized designation in market research from the Market Research Intelligence Association and a commerce degree from Dalhousie University, and he is nearing completion of a certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
