Bob Pelley is Innovacorp’s regional manager for Cape Breton and Northern Nova Scotia. In this role, Bob enables knowledge-based companies to accelerate their development, while cultivating a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial culture in the region.
Bob has mentored small and medium sized businesses for over 25 years. He is a veteran of the market research and consulting industry, with experience in business development, project management, market research, strategic planning, operations and sales. Over the years, he has started and operated a number of his own companies and assisted many local start-ups. Bob has worked in a wide range of sectors, from recreation, tourism and education, to retail trade, technology and health.
In 2014, Startup Canada recognized him as an “Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Builder for Atlantic Canada,” as Cape Breton’s start-up community has been recognized by Entrevestor.com as the fastest growing start-up hub in the region, with 400 per cent growth among innovation based start-ups over the past eight years.
Bob is an active in the community and holds board positions with the Alexander Graham Bell Foundation, Navigate Startup House and J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport Authority.
Bob has a specialized designation in market research from the Market Research Intelligence Association, a commerce degree from Dalhousie University and a certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
